Returning to 99 Market this Sunday!

I was a vendor at the new and fabulous 99 Market on August 7th and I had such a fun day I will be returning this Sunday!

If you haven’t had a chance to check it out plan on stopping by. There was a great mixture of vendors selling anything from streetwear, artwork, honey, food, coffee, textiles, local honey products, dog walking services, dance lessons, organic vegetable home delivery services,  jewelry (Of course!) and the list goes on. It was a fun and friendly atmosphere and the vendors were having as much fun as those who stopped by to check out the market.

99 Market is this Sunday, August 21st from 11am to 5pm. It’s located at 99 Sudbury. The market is kid friendly and dog friendly so bring the whole family!

Beautiful Amazonite

One of my favorite stones to work with is the beautiful Amazonite. It’s often a pretty soft shade of turquoise and can range to a dark blue-green, sometimes with colour variations throughout.

This special stone has an interesting history and evokes many beliefs. There are a couple of stories about where the name comes from but the most likely version is that it was name after the Woman Warriors of the Amazon. The Egyptians often used this stone and referred to it as the stone of courage. Amazonite is also believed to be a soothing stone and is often called the “hope stone” because it inspired confidence and hope. One more belief is that it’s enhances creative expression.

Whatever the meaning of this stunning stone is I love creating simple but special pieces of jewelry with it! ♥

Choosing the Right Craft Show For You

How I Display My Wool Wrapped Bangles at a Show

How I Display My Wool Wrapped Bangles at a Show

There is no exact science to choosing the right craft show that will bring in tons of sales for you. So much of it is based on the customers that day, who the other vendors are, the weather and of course the state of the economy. That being said here are a few tips I’ve learned to help you at least narrow down the shows that will be more likely to work for you.

First is to establish who your target market is and attend shows that will attract those people. If you make gourmet dog treats then shows that market to dog lovers or in areas that have many dog owners would be your shows of choice. But if you make metal spike studded punk rock jewelry you might not do so well at that craft bazaar at a retirement home…although it’s not impossible!

Contest Time!!!

I’ve been wanting to hold a contest for awhile now and I’ve decided it’s time! I have a collection of jewelry that has developed into a signature style for me and I need help deciding on what to call it! That’s where you come in.

To enter the contest all you need to do is look at the following pictures and leave a comment below with your suggestion of what you think would be the perfect name for this collection of jewelry. The name needs to be short enough to work into the title of each piece on my Etsy Shop and needs to work with a variety of colours. The collection will include earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

Prittyfy Yourself

Today I’m excited to introduce Inessa from the Etsy Shop Prittyfy. I met Inessa through the Promotional Frenzy Team which we both belong to and have been a fan of her jewelry since I first saw it. Inessa has been creative all her life and in 2008 started making jewelry. Inessa is a Civil Engineer by day and in her free time has many hobbies from taking classes to cooking to working with animal rescue. I’m impressed she finds time to create such beautiful pieces of jewelry! Inessa loves to travel and that is where much of her inspiration comes from. Take a look at just a few of the gorgeous pieces you will find in her shop!
