Win Tickets to CRAVE Chat Mentors Move Mountains
I have a great opportunity today! I was lucky enough to win a pair of tickets to a fantastic networking event Thursday, CRAVE Chat Mentors Move Mountains. I’m so sad that I’m out of town and not able to attend! When I let the organizers know that I couldn’t use the tickets I asked if I could pass them along to one of my wonderful followers and not only did they say I could do that they also offered a second pair of tickets! So that means two of my followers will each win a pair of tickets to this great event!
If you’ve never heard of CRAVE Toronto you need to check them out.
“CRAVE innovatively connects urban gals to the sassiest, gutsiest, most inspiring people they need to know in town. Soirees, gatherings and online networking—we are your guide to everything you CRAVE in Toronto.”
The event you have a chance to win tickets for is this Thursday, October 27th from 7 pm to 9 pm. At CRAVE Chat Mentors Move Mountains you will have the opportunity to hear guest speakers Leanne Grechulk, Founder of HealthyGirl™, and Sheena Repath, Founder of Ideal Samples, speak about how their personal experiences and learn how important mentors can be for your business. You may even get a chance to meet a mentor of your own during the evening!
Tickets for the event are $25 per person, but you can win one of 2 pairs ($50 value per pair) for FREE! All you have to do is leave a comment here letting me know you want to attend! So simple! Because the event is Thursday you need to leave a comment before Noon tomorrow (October 27th, 2011) to let me know you’d like to win. I will randomly select two winners at Noon tomorrow and announce them here. (Be sure to leave your name and email address on the comment so I can forward the contact details for the winners to the event organizers so they can contact you with details to claim your tickets)
Good luck! ♥
Pumpkin Pie Dip…Seriously Yummy!
I’ve been meaning to share this delicious recipe for a couple of weeks now and I’m finally getting around to it. Over Thanksgiving weekend I threw a baby shower for my brother and sister in-law and my soon to be niece or nephew. The shower was held at our family cottage at the lakefront, a perfect setting for a fall baby shower if you ask me! With the gorgeous red and yellow leaves falling around us it was the perfect opportunity to share a couple of fall recipes I had found recently on Pinterest. The first is a delicious Pumpkin Pie Dip and the second a refreshing Apple Cider Punch. Enjoy! ♥
Pumpkin Pie Dip
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup frozen whipped cream, thawed
- Gingersnap cookies, apples, or cinnamon graham cracker sticks
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add in pumpkin, sour cream, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and ginger. Mix well. Fold in the thawed whipped cream. Serve with green apples, graham cracker sticks, or gingersnaps. Store in refrigerator
Apple Cider Punch
- 6 cups apple cider
- 2 cups orange juice, cranberry-raspberry juice, or orange-mango juice (I used cran-raspberry)
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1 750-ml bottle sparkling white grape juice or sparkling wine
In punch bowl, large pitcher, or pitchers combine apple cider, orange juice, and lemon juice. Slowly add sparkling white grape juice or sparkling wine. Serve immediately.
Time for an Announcement!
I have an announcement that I’m very excited to share!
I’ve been blogging with Sea Flower Studios for over a year now and I enjoy it so much more than I ever thought I would. What started as a personal blog to share recipes, DIY projects and great handmade finds has taken a bit of a turn over the last year. As my followers know I started sharing vendor calls after realizing it was difficult to find a comprehensive list and that has brought many followers and helped me connect with many creative entrepreneurs in our community. Over the last few months that has become a large focus of my blog.
I’ve decided it’s time to branch out and split my blog into two in order to give my followers more focused posts. First off I will keep Sea Flower Studios and I will go back to posting delicious recipes, fun DIY projects, what I’m up to with my jewelry, great handmade finds and anything else fun I decide I want to share.
The big news is that I now have a second brand new blog called Handmakers Haven. Handmakers Haven is just that…a haven for artisans to come learn, get inspired and connect with other creative entrepreneurs. This new blog will be where from now on I will be posting vendor calls. I will still focus on Toronto and Area but will be posting more about shows throughout Ontario and across Canada. I will also post more resources to help creative entrepreneurs build their businesses and Handmakers Haven will be the new host of the Artisan Support Forum so we can continue building connections with each other.
I’m so excited about the growth I’ve seen in my blog over the last year and I expect with this change I will be able to give my amazing readers even more of what you want! If you are currently a follower of Sea Flower Studios and are interested in the creative business side of things head over to Handmakers Haven and follow me there as well. For the next month or so during this transition I will post vendor calls on both blogs, but will be reminding readers to head over to Handmakers Haven.
Of course this also means new Facebook and Twitter pages so if you use those methods to follow please feel free to head over and follow Handmakers Haven those ways as well!
It’s a little scary to start fresh with a second blog and I’m sure the first few months will have ups and downs as work out any kinks with the new blog so I appreciate your patience and support and I look forward to being able to connect with even more readers! ♥
Fat Goose Craft Fair Vendor Call Kingston
The organizers of the Fat Goose Craft Fair are dedicated to putting on a Craft Fair that will bring in the most revenue possible for the crafters who are involved. They have done their best to keep table costs down and to be able to have done this they are running the show as volunteers and are asking their vendors to take on a little job or two (like putting up flyers or helping set up tables). What a great way to take part in a fabulous craft show and be really involved as well as keep your costs a little lower! For more information about this show, being held December 4th in Kingston, and to apply check out their site here.
For a full listing of Vendor Calls and upcoming Craft Shows you can visit my brand new blog Handmakers Haven here.
